CONGRATULATING James Condon upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors, on May 31, 2026

WHEREAS, James Condon, through his diligence and rigorous efforts,
has attained Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026,
at Mineola High School, Garden City Park, New York; and

WHEREAS, James Condon is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 45, Mineola,
New York; and

WHEREAS, James Condon has achieved this high honor through his
steadfast commitment to the principles of Scouting, including
leadership, service, citizenship, and personal responsibility; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Williston Park, New York, James Condon was
born on March 1, 2008, and has demonstrated excellence both academically
and within his community; and

WHEREAS, James Condon attended Chaminade High School, Class of 2026,
where he distinguished himself through participation in numerous
extracurricular activities, including Cross Country, Indoor Track,
Outdoor Track, Speech & Debate, Chorus, and Latin Club; and

WHEREAS, James Condon has earned recognition as a National Merit
Commended Student, AP Scholar with Distinction, and Scout of the Year,
reflecting his academic excellence and leadership within Scouting; and

WHEREAS, As part of the requirements for attaining the rank of Eagle
Scout, James Condon completed a meaningful and lasting service project
involving the creation of a sign and custom-built furniture to enhance
the courtyard at NYU Langone Medical Center, improving accessibility and
providing a welcoming and restorative environment for patients,
visitors, and staff alike; and

WHEREAS, James Condon began his Scouting journey with Cub Scout Pack
311 in Williston Park, New York, where he earned the Arrow of Light
Award on March 28, 2019, before continuing his advancement with Scouts
BSA Troop 45 in Mineola; and

WHEREAS, Through years of perseverance and commitment, James Condon
advanced through the ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First
Class, Star Scout, and Life Scout, ultimately completing his Eagle Scout
project on February 26, 2026, successfully passing his Eagle Scout Board
of Review on April 14, 2026, and earning the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his Scouting journey, James Condon served in
numerous leadership roles including Scribe, Patrol Leader, Assistant
Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, exemplifying the
ideals of leadership and service central to the Scouting movement; and

WHEREAS, James Condon earned an impressive array of merit badges,
including required badges such as Citizenship in the Community,
Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Citizenship in
Society, Communication, Cooking, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental
Science, First Aid, Cycling, Personal Management, Personal Fitness, and
Family Life, as well as elective merit badges including Leatherwork,
Law, Crime Prevention, American Heritage, Fingerprinting, Backpacking,
Hiking, and Mammal Studies; and

WHEREAS, James Condon has demonstrated exceptional dedication to
service, leadership, and personal excellence, earning the admiration of
his family, friends, fellow Scouts, and community members; and

WHEREAS, With aspirations to pursue a bachelor's degree in Classics
and Political Science and a future career in government and public
policy, James Condon exemplifies the values of civic responsibility,
perseverance, and leadership that define the finest traditions of
Scouting and citizenship; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body pauses in its deliberations to
recognize that James Condon is a credit to his family, his school, his
community, his State, and his Nation, and his future is expected to be
marked by continued achievement and service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate James Condon upon the occasion of receiving the rank of
Eagle Scout, the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America,
and to commend him for his dedication to service, leadership, and
excellence; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to James Condon.
