CONGRATULATING Andrew Leiter upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors, on May 31, 2026

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter, through his diligence and rigorous efforts,
has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026,
at Mineola High School, Garden City Park, New York; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 45, Mineola,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter has achieved this high honor through his
steadfast commitment to the principles of Scouting, including
leadership, service, citizenship, and personal responsibility; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Williston Park, New York, Andrew Leiter was
born on September 1, 2007, and has demonstrated excellence both
academically and within his community; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter attended Mineola High School, where he
distinguished himself through participation in numerous extracurricular
and leadership activities, including Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band,
Varsity Lacrosse, Track & Field, National Honor Society, and Wind
Ensemble; and

WHEREAS, He has continued his educational pursuits at the University
at Buffalo, where he is involved with the Men's Club Lacrosse Team and
the Nursing Student Organization, while pursuing a future career in
advanced nursing practice; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter was the recipient of the Andrew Desiderio
Leadership Award, recognizing his exemplary character, dedication, and
leadership abilities; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter completed a meaningful and lasting Eagle
Scout service project involving the design and construction of a
meditation garden in the courtyard of NYU Langone Medical Center,
featuring handcrafted benches, flowers, and a raked Zen sand garden,
while also beautifying and restoring the surrounding area to create a
peaceful and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors
alike; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter's Scouting career began with Cub Scout Pack
246 in Mineola, New York, where he earned the Arrow of Light Award on
January 5, 2018, before continuing his Scouting journey with Troop 45 in
Mineola; and

WHEREAS, Through years of perseverance and commitment, Andrew Leiter
advanced through the ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First
Class, Star Scout, and Life Scout, ultimately completing his Eagle Scout
project on July 13, 2025, successfully passing his Eagle Scout Board of
Review on January 6, 2026, and earning the rank of Eagle Scout; and


WHEREAS, Throughout his Scouting journey, Andrew Leiter served in
numerous leadership roles including Den Chief, Patrol Leader, Assistant
Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, thereby
exemplifying the ideals of leadership and mentorship central to the
Scouting movement; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter earned an impressive array of merit badges,
including all required badges necessary for the rank of Eagle Scout,
among them Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation,
Citizenship in the World, Citizenship in Society, Communications,
Environmental Science, First Aid, Lifesaving, Personal Fitness, Personal
Management, Family Life, and Swimming, in addition to elective merit
badges such as Space Exploration, Robotics, Astronomy, Canoeing,
Kayaking, and Small Boat Sailing; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Leiter's dedication to service, leadership, and
personal excellence has earned him the admiration of his family,
friends, fellow Scouts, and community members; and

WHEREAS, With his future aspirations of becoming either a Nurse
Practitioner or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Andrew Leiter
exemplifies the values of compassion, perseverance, and civic
responsibility that define the finest traditions of Scouting and
citizenship; and

WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body pauses in its deliberations to
congratulate Andrew Leiter upon the occasion of receiving the rank of
Eagle Scout, the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America,
and to commend him for his dedication to service, leadership, and
excellence; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Andrew Leiter upon the occasion of receiving the rank of
Eagle Scout, the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America,
and to commend him for his dedication to service, leadership, and
excellence; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Andrew Leiter.
