MOURNING the death of Edwin J. Moles,
distinguished United States Army veteran, skilled
tradesman, and devoted member of his community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and
commemorate the lives of those distinguished citizens whose service,
dedication, and contributions left a lasting imprint upon their
families, communities, and the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles, a resident of Brewster, New York, died on
March 22, 2026, at the age of 80; and

WHEREAS, Born on July 1, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Edwin J. Moles
was the son of the late Edwin J. Moles, Sr. and Rita Mullen Moles; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his youth, Edwin J. Moles lived in several
communities across New York State, including Brooklyn, Tupper Lake, Lake
Placid, Albany, and Pleasantville, before ultimately settling with his
family in Bedford Hills, New York; and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles graduated from Fox Lane High School in 1964
and soon thereafter answered the call to service by enlisting in the
United States Army, faithfully serving his country during the Vietnam
War from 1965 through 1967; and

WHEREAS, Following his honorable military service, Edwin J. Moles
returned home and married his former wife, Anna Messina, with whom he
shared a family and raised his two beloved daughters while residing in
Katonah, New York; and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles was a deeply respected and familiar presence
in the Bedford Hills and Katonah communities, where he built lasting
relationships and earned the admiration of all who knew him; and

WHEREAS, Known for his exceptional skill and versatility, Edwin J.
Moles was a true jack-of-all-trades, proficient in construction,
carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and numerous other trades,
demonstrating a lifelong commitment to craftsmanship and hard work; and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles dedicated over 20 years of loyal service to
Frank and Carol Nickell and was widely regarded for his reliability,
dedication, and strong work ethic; and

WHEREAS, He further distinguished himself as the owner and operator
of Katonah Electric, a business he successfully led for more than 30
years, earning a reputation as an outstanding and trusted electrician;
and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles enjoyed a full and active life outside of
his profession, including boating, fishing, attending car shows with his
classic automobile, and vacationing at the Jersey Shore; and

WHEREAS, A man committed to service and community involvement, Edwin
J. Moles served as a range officer at Blue Mountain Sportsman Center in
Cortlandt, New York, and was an active and proud member of the Veterans
of Foreign Wars, the Elks Lodge in Brewster, New York, and the Moose
Lodge in Danbury, Connecticut; and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles is survived by his loving daughters, Elisa
Anfuso and her husband Michael, and Colleen Moles and her partner Scott
Jacobson; his cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Ryan, and Christopher
Anfuso, Anthony Agro and his wife Alexis, and Colin and Carlyanne Krebs;
and his treasured great-grandson, Easton John; and

WHEREAS, He is further survived by his devoted companion, Eileen
McIlvenna; his former wife, Anna Messina; and his faithful dog, Missy,
together with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues who
will forever cherish his memory; and

WHEREAS, Edwin J. Moles will be remembered for his kindness, humor,
craftsmanship, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and
community, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and love;
and

WHEREAS, The passing of Edwin J. Moles represents a profound loss to
all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his life stands as a
testament to service, resilience, and devotion to others; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Edwin J. Moles, honoring his military service,
professional accomplishments, and lifelong contributions to his
community and the State of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Edwin J. Moles.
