MOURNING the death of Susan Wright, distinguished
citizen and devoted member of her community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Susan Wright of Harlem, New York, died on Sunday, May 17,
2026; and

WHEREAS, A respected and cherished presence within the Harlem
community, Susan Wright was a woman known for her grace, strength,
wisdom, and deep faith; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Susan Wright touched countless
individuals through her service, guidance, and undeniable presence in
the Harlem neighborhood and beyond; and

WHEREAS, While Susan Wright impacted individuals throughout her
community, her influence is best shown within her own family unit; and

WHEREAS, Susan Wright's husband, former Assembly Member Keith L. T.
Wright, and her two sons, Keith Jared Wright and Assembly Member Jordan
J. G. Wright, have looked up to her and relied on her grounding wisdom
and presence as they navigated their lives and engaged with public
service; and

WHEREAS, Susan Wright distinguished herself in her profession and by
her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
her community; and

WHEREAS, As the director of event marketing at the Studio Museum of
Harlem, Susan Wright helped oversee the museum's outreach and event
programming, leading to growth in the museum's community and
philanthropic presence in the neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Susan Wright's commitment to excellence, and her spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, A longtime member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Susan
Wright lived a life guided by faith, compassion, and service to others;
and

WHEREAS, Susan Wright has served as an extraordinary example of how
to embody leadership, service, and selfless commitments; she has served
as, and will continue to be, a beacon of inspiration to her family, the
Harlem neighborhood, and the greater New York State community; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Susan Wright leaves behind a legacy which will long endure

the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all she
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Susan Wright, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of her community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Susan Wright.
