COMMENDING the Adirondack Economic Development
Corporation upon the occasion of celebrating its
50th Anniversary on June 11, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those exceptional organizations within the State of New York that
have dedicated themselves to fostering economic growth, community
revitalization, and entrepreneurial success; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) upon the
auspicious occasion of its 50th Anniversary, to be celebrated on June
11, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1976, the Adirondack Economic Development
Corporation has served as a vital cornerstone for economic development
across the North Country and Northern New York, empowering small local
businesses, creating thriving economies, and preserving the unique
character of the communities within the Adirondack region; and

WHEREAS, For five decades, AEDC has provided critical financial
lending, comprehensive business training, and strategic technical
assistance, bridging capital gaps for small businesses and disadvantaged
entrepreneurs who otherwise lack access to traditional financing; and

WHEREAS, AEDC has helped leverage millions of dollars in public and
private investment for small business development, downtown
revitalization, adaptive reuse projects, and entrepreneurial growth
throughout northern New York including transformative projects connected
to the revitalization of downtown Saranac Lake and many other
communities; and

WHEREAS, Through partnerships with regional organizations, Empire
State Development, local governments, and community lenders, AEDC has
expanded access to flexible capital for rural entrepreneurs while
helping strengthen Main Streets, retain local businesses, and support
long-term economic resilience across Northern New York; and

WHEREAS, Under the visionary leadership of Executive Director
Victoria Duley, AEDC continues to expand its impactful reach, driving
regional collaboration, strengthening local supply chains, and fostering
a resilient economic ecosystem that sustains both employment and
community well-being; and

WHEREAS, The unwavering commitment of AEDC's staff, board of
directors, and regional partners has resulted in the creation and
retention of thousands of jobs, fueling sustainable prosperity
throughout Northern New York; and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our

attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation upon the occasion
of celebrating 50 years of dedicated service to the North Country; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Victoria Duley, Executive Director of the Adirondack
Economic Development Corporation.
