Senate Resolution No. 2309

COMMENDING St. Joseph Lodge No. 117 of the Most
Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of New York upon
the occasion of hosting its Evening of Elegance on
October 24, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose enduring commitment to fraternal excellence,
community service, and the advancement of the Masonic tradition has
enriched the civic and moral life of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend St. Joseph Lodge No. 117 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall
Grand Lodge of New York upon the occasion of hosting its Evening of
Elegance on Saturday, October 24, 2026, under the leadership of
Worshipful Master Johan Powell, Esq.; and

WHEREAS, The dedicated Masons of St. Joseph Lodge No. 117 are men
with a social conscience and charitable perspective, bound together by
common moral ideals and esoteric values grounded in the timeless
principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, whose involvement in
their communities reflects the highest aspirations of Prince Hall
Masonry; and

WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Worshipful Master Johan Powell,
Esq., St. Joseph Lodge No. 117 continues to uphold the highest
traditions of Prince Hall Masonry, fostering a spirit of brotherhood,
mentorship, and community investment that reflects the finest ideals of
the fraternity; and

WHEREAS, The Evening of Elegance is a celebration of brotherhood,
fellowship, and the enduring bonds that unite the members of St. Joseph
Lodge No. 117, bringing together Brethren, families, and guests in a
spirit of joy, gratitude, and shared pride in the Lodge's continued
excellence and community impact; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor St. Joseph
Lodge No. 117, Worshipful Master Johan Powell, Esq., and the Lodge's
officers and members whose commitment to the ideals of Prince Hall
Masonry has made them a valued and distinguished part of the Prince Hall
fraternal family in the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend St. Joseph Lodge No. 117 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall
Grand Lodge of New York upon the occasion of hosting its Evening of
Elegance on October 24, 2026, and to extend congratulations and deepest
appreciation to Worshipful Master Johan Powell, Esq., and all officers
and members; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Worshipful Master Johan Powell, Esq., and the officers
and members of St. Joseph Lodge No. 117 of the Most Worshipful Prince

Hall Grand Lodge of New York, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of
New York.
