COMMENDING the Women Empowerment Ministry upon the
occasion of hosting its 10th Annual Luncheon on July
9, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose enduring commitment to the health, empowerment, and
well-being of women and seniors has enriched the civic life of the State
of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Women Empowerment Ministry upon the occasion of hosting its
10th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, July 9, 2026, under the theme
"Commitment, Dedication, and Outstanding Support to Our Communities";
and

WHEREAS, For ten years, the Women Empowerment Ministry has gathered
the women of Brooklyn and the surrounding communities in a spirit of
fellowship, mutual support, and shared commitment to health and
wellness, providing a free, accessible forum in which women can receive
vital information on the health and legal issues that most directly
affect their lives and the lives of their families; and

WHEREAS, The 10th Annual Luncheon will bring together community
members, health advocates, and sponsors to address critical topics,
including health and legal issues affecting seniors, Medicaid access,
mental health, high blood pressure, diabetes, and gut health; in
communities where health disparities remain a persistent and devastating
reality, events such as this one represent an act of care and advocacy
that saves lives; and

WHEREAS, The 10th Annual Luncheon will feature the wisdom and
inspiration of guest speakers, Dr. Tamia Bethea-Williams, Doctor of
Psychology and Counseling and Doctor of Metaphysical Science, who has a
career as a certified motivational speaker, and John C. Maxwell,
Leadership Coach, Life Mastery Consultant, and Rapid Transformation
Therapist; these speakers have been devoted to empowering individuals to
define their purpose and step into their highest potential; and

WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Winnifred Grant and the dedicated
committee of organizers who have sustained this ministry across ten
years of free community service, the Women Empowerment Ministry has
embodied the very theme it has always carried: commitment, dedication,
and outstanding support to the communities it serves; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor the Women
Empowerment Ministry and its leadership, sponsors, and guest speakers
and the women of Brooklyn who gather each year to invest in their own
health, knowledge, and well-being; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Women Empowerment Ministry, upon the occasion of hosting its

10th Annual Luncheon on July 9, 2026, and to extend heartfelt
congratulations for ten years of commitment, dedication, and outstanding
support to the communities of Brooklyn; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Winnifred Grant and the leadership, organizers, and
members of the Women Empowerment Ministry in recognition of their decade
of devoted service to the health and empowerment of Brooklyn's women and
seniors.
