COMMENDING The Positive Community Media upon the
occasion of hosting its 6th annual Great American
Emancipation Day Awards event, celebrating the
Commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation and
Black History Month on February 22, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend The Positive Community Media upon the occasion of hosting its
6th annual Great American Emancipation Day Awards event, celebrating the
Commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation and Black History Month
on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 50 Park Place, Newark, New Jersey;
and

WHEREAS, The Great American Emancipation Day Awards event is meant
to bring awareness to the commitment made by The Positive Community
Media to uplift and educate the broader Black community of Metro New
York and New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, The Positive Community Media has
sought to celebrate Black and Latino individuals that bring innovative
energy to business, education, health, politics, and entertainment, and
also those who seek to improve the world for the benefit of the wider
society; and

WHEREAS, The success of The Positive Community Media is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its dedicated staff and volunteers, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend The Positive Community Media upon the occasion of hosting its
6th annual Great American Emancipation Day Awards event, celebrating the
Commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation and Black History Month
on February 22, 2025; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Positive Community Media.
