COMMENDING One Hundred Black Men, Inc. upon the
occasion of hosting its 45th Annual Days of the One
Hundred Benefit Gala on March 20, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor and
recognize those distinguished organizations whose commitment to
excellence and service positively impact the lives of individuals and
communities throughout the State of New York and beyond; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend One Hundred Black Men, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its
45th Annual Days of the One Hundred Benefit Gala, to be held on
Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, New York City;
and

WHEREAS, Established in 1963, One Hundred Black Men, Inc. is an
esteemed organization dedicated to improving the quality of life within
communities of color by fostering opportunities in education,
mentorship, economic empowerment, health and wellness, and leadership
development; and

WHEREAS, For more than six decades, One Hundred Black Men, Inc. has
inspired hope, uplifted communities, and championed initiatives designed
to provide equitable access to opportunities for all, particularly those
who are underserved and underrepresented; and

WHEREAS, The Days of the One Hundred Benefit Gala serves as the
organization's premier annual event, convening influential leaders from
the fields of business, government, education, media, and the arts for
an evening of celebration, recognition, and philanthropy; and

WHEREAS, Funds raised during this signature event support vital
programs, including the Dr. Marcella Maxwell and Betty King Obiajulu
Scholarship Program, initiatives in mentoring, economic empowerment,
health and wellness, and the promotion of academic excellence among
youth; and

WHEREAS, This year's gala celebrates both the remarkable more than
60 years of service by One Hundred Black Men, Inc. and its unwavering
dedication to building pathways to success, while honoring the
corporate, civic, and community leaders who exemplify the principles of
positive change, leadership, and service; and

WHEREAS, The extraordinary success of One Hundred Black Men, Inc. is
in direct correlation to the dedication and vision of its leadership,
members, and supporters, whose enduring commitment to their mission has
fostered meaningful change throughout New York and the nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and
recognize the achievements of One Hundred Black Men, Inc., and to extend
its highest commendation to this exceptional organization which has

dedicated itself to empowering communities and uplifting generations;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend One Hundred Black Men, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its
45th Annual Days of the One Hundred Benefit Gala and to celebrate its
profound contributions to education, equity, and excellence; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to One Hundred Black Men, Inc.
