CONGRATULATING Esmerlin Santiago Matias Garcia
upon the occasion of his nomination as YouTuber of
the Year at the 2024 Soberano Awards
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor and pay
tribute to those artistic geniuses whose commitment and creative talents
have contributed to the entertainment and cultural enrichment of their
community, the State of New York, the Nation and the world; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Esmerlin Santiago Matias Garcia upon the occasion of his
nomination as YouTuber of the Year at the 2024 Soberano Awards; and
WHEREAS, Esmerlin Santiago Matias Garcia, popularly known as
Alofoke, was born on December 6, 1981, in Ensanche Capotillo, Santo
Domingo, Dominican Republic; he is the son of Santiago Matias and Ada
Garcia; and
WHEREAS, A young entrepreneur, radio personality, and music
producer, his program, "Alofoke Radio Show," has gained great
popularity, where he discusses entertainment news, music, and urban
culture; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, Santiago Matias has been a key figure in the
careers of many urban genre artists, and his record label, "Alofoke
Music," has worked with several well-known artists; his irreverent style
and ability to connect with a young audience has allowed him to position
himself as one of the most influential figures in the industry; and
WHEREAS, Santiago Matias was nominated as YouTuber of the Year at
the 2024 Soberano Awards for the impact he has had on the digital
entertainment industry; he has established himself as a key figure in
content creation in the Dominican Republic, especially with his channel,
"Alofoke Radio Show"; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, his charisma and positioning have certainly
proven his influence and power in the urban music scene; in 2024,
Santiago Matias organized a successful show at the iconic Prudential
Center in New Jersey; he also broadcasted his program from Carnegie Hall
in New York; and
WHEREAS, Santiago Matias is a strong advocate for urban artists,
promoting their talent and contributing to the visibility of this genre;
and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Charylie Alvarado
de Jesus, and his two children, Byroon and Prince, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his many
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Santiago Matias' nomination as YouTuber of the Year is a
testament to his incredible talent, dedication, and the authentic
connection he has built with his audience; through his engaging content,
creativity, and passion, he has not only entertained but also inspired
countless viewers; his commitment to producing content that resonates
with people from all walks of life has set him apart as a true innovator
in the digital space; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Esmerlin Santiago Matias GarcĂa upon the occasion of his
nomination as YouTuber of the Year at the 2024 Soberano Awards; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Esmerlin Santiago Matias Garcia.
