HONORING Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry, National
Presiding Minister Emeritus of the House of the Lord
Churches, upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition at The Positive Community
Media's 6th Annual Great American Emancipation Day
Awards Celebration on February 22, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend distinguished religious and civic leaders whose dedication to
social justice, faith, and community empowerment has left an enduring
impact on society; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry, National Presiding Minister Emeritus of the
House of the Lord Churches, upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition at The Positive Community Media's 6th Annual Great
American Emancipation Day Awards Celebration on Saturday, February 22,
2025; and

WHEREAS, A lifelong advocate for human rights, racial justice, and
economic empowerment, Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry has spent more than six
decades championing the cause of freedom, equality, and social progress;
and

WHEREAS, As the fifth-generation minister of the House of the Lord
Churches, Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry has provided spiritual leadership,
activism, and mentorship, ensuring that faith remains a driving force
for justice and community upliftment; and

WHEREAS, A renowned civil rights leader, Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry
has played an instrumental role in advocating for economic justice,
addressing police brutality, and mobilizing communities for political
empowerment, making him a steadfast voice for the marginalized and
disenfranchised; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his ministerial and activist work, Rev. Dr.
Herbert Daughtry has worked alongside global leaders, participated in
international peace efforts, and inspired generations of faith-based
advocates to take action against injustice; and

WHEREAS, His unwavering commitment to service, education, and
empowerment continues to influence countless individuals, demonstrating
the power of faith in action and the responsibility of leadership in
shaping a more just society; and

WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that this Legislative Body
recognize the extraordinary contributions of Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry
and commend him for his lifelong dedication to justice, equality, and
faith-based leadership; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry upon the occasion of his designation for

special recognition at The Positive Community Media's 6th Annual Great
American Emancipation Day Awards Celebration; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry, National Presiding Minister
Emeritus of the House of the Lord Churches.
