HONORING Trent Trahan upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2025 Businessperson
of the Year Award by the North Country Chamber of
Commerce at its 113th Annual Awards Dinner on
January 31, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Trent Trahan upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2025 Businessperson of the Year Award by the North Country Chamber of
Commerce at its 113th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, January 31, 2025,
at the Warren Ballroom at SUNY Plattsburgh; and

WHEREAS, Trent Trahan is the President and CEO of Champlain
Technology Group and has been a driving force in the North Country's
business community for decades; he has led the independent
telecommunications company through significant industry advancements
since joining the company as general manager in 1989 and becoming
President and CEO in 1995; he has always worked to promote continued
growth and innovation while maintaining a commitment to personalized
service; and

WHEREAS, Ever involved in his community, Trent Trahan has served as
Chairperson of the Clinton County Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA),
a member of the CVPH Board, and Chairperson for the SUNY Plattsburgh
Foundation's Annual Business Partner's Campaign, contributing to
economic growth, healthcare, and education; and

WHEREAS, Regarded for his remarkable leadership skills and deep
sense of integrity, Trent Trahan led the legacy Champlain Telephone
Company successfully through the huge technology transitions in
communications in recent years, making the area a successful hub and
benefactor of the digital age; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, this distinguished honoree has led the Clinton
County IDA for years, directly assisting with many economic development
ventures that benefit the North Country; and

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies to serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional individual and his contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that he will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes he has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Trent Trahan upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2025 Businessperson of the Year Award by the North Country Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Trent Trahan.
