COMMENDING 4-H Camp Bristol Hills upon the
occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary in
2025

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
youth of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend 4-H Camp Bristol Hills upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The belief that the camp experience is essential to every
child's growth and education is the reason for the existence of 4-H; the
4-H Camp helps children develop self-esteem, character, courage,
responsibility, resourcefulness, and cooperation; and

WHEREAS, Quality camp experiences help children develop the healthy
emotional and social skills necessary to grow into strong, committed,
responsible, considerate, and competent adults; this enables youth to
appreciate, respect, and care for the world in which they live; and

WHEREAS, In 1925, 4-H Camp Bristol Hills, the second 4-H Camp in New
York State, was established on the shores of Canandaigua Lake in Ontario
County; and

WHEREAS, The purpose of 4-H Camp Bristol Hills is encouraging
children to value their uniqueness and to understand and appreciate
their part in the larger community; this is implemented through positive
child development and a partnership with parents; and

WHEREAS, As an organization, 4-H Camp Bristol Hills values the
world, the people who live in it, and the contribution each individual
can make; the values which are important to the organization are the
same as those that 4-H strives to instill in the children who
participate in the Camp's activities; and

WHEREAS, Camp professionals have joined together to share knowledge
and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs; 4-H Camp
Bristol Hills offers a wide variety of programs for daytime and
overnight camping options and accepts children from 5-16 years of age,
regardless of 4-H membership or county of residence; and

WHEREAS, The mission of 4-H Camp Bristol Hills to positively
influence young lives should be applauded by the citizens of the
community; and

WHEREAS, The success of 4-H Camp Bristol Hills is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled

enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend 4-H Camp Bristol Hills, upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th Anniversary, and to honor its members, past and present, who have
labored so conscientiously to secure and improve the quality of life for
the youth of the community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to 4-H Camp Bristol Hills.
