HONORING Dr. Neva Helena Alexander upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition
at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards
Gala on March 9, 2025
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals whose leadership, vision, and dedication have
empowered communities and transformed industries; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dr. Neva Helena Alexander upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards
Gala, to be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in celebration of Women's
History Month under the theme "Women of Destiny"; and
WHEREAS, A visionary leader in education, entrepreneurship, and
professional development, Dr. Neva Helena Alexander serves as the CEO of
Nevalliance and Co-Director of Ascend Long Island, where she champions
innovation, business development, and economic empowerment; and
WHEREAS, As the founder of the National Educational Venture Alliance
(NEVA), Dr. Neva Helena Alexander has dedicated her career to equipping
students and professionals with the skills necessary for academic and
professional success, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to
education and lifelong learning; and
WHEREAS, A renowned educator, speaker, and author, Dr. Neva Helena
Alexander has become a sought-after thought leader, offering strategic
insights on entrepreneurship, leadership, and women's empowerment
through her engaging webinars, seminars, and workshops, making a lasting
impact on diverse business sectors; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Neva Helena Alexander's global influence is reflected
in her role as a keynote speaker and facilitator at international
conferences, addressing critical topics such as leadership,
entrepreneurship, and cultural diversity, with notable appearances at
Harvard University, the United Nations, and international summits in
Dubai, New Delhi, and Atlanta; and
WHEREAS, Since 2017, Dr. Neva Helena Alexander has led the
International Women's Conference at Hofstra University, bringing
together renowned global leaders to foster collaboration, mentorship,
and empowerment for women in business and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, her commitment to advancing entrepreneurship
and economic growth is evident in her work with Ascend Long Island,
where she has helped numerous entrepreneurs navigate their developmental
journeys, fostering sustainable business practices and innovation; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Neva Helena Alexander's leadership and contributions
have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Long Island
Power Women in Business Award in 2018, honoring her impact on the
business and professional landscape; and
WHEREAS, A former President of the Caribbean Business Network, Dr.
Neva Helena Alexander has consistently amplified voices in the business
community, advocating for economic advancement, cultural diversity, and
professional equity; and
WHEREAS, Her work continues to be a source of inspiration and a
catalyst for positive change, empowering individuals and organizations
worldwide through her commitment to education, entrepreneurship, and
leadership development; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Neva Helena Alexander upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards
Gala, commending her for her unparalleled contributions to education,
economic empowerment, and global leadership; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Neva Helena Alexander.
