CONGRATULATING Forrest Slingerland upon the
occasion of capturing the 2025 NYSPHSAA Boys Nordic
Skiing 7.5K Individual Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Forrest Slingerland upon the occasion of capturing the 2025 NYSPHSAA
Boys Nordic Skiing 7.5K Individual Championship at the North Creek Ski
Bowl on Monday, February 24, 2025; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding ski racer for Glens Falls High School,
Forrest Slingerland won the Boys Nordic Skiing 7.5K Individual
Championship with an outstanding time of 25 minutes and 0.7 seconds,
beating the second-place finisher by 45 seconds; and

WHEREAS, Forrest Slingerland's overall record is outstanding; he was
loyally and enthusiastically supported by his family, teammates,
friends, and the community; and

WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, Forrest Slingerland has
proven himself to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting
favorably on his school; and

WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride,
and accomplishment, and Forrest Slingerland has clearly contributed to
the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Forrest Slingerland upon the occasion of capturing the 2025
NYSPHSAA Boys Nordic Skiing 7.5K Individual Championship; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Forrest Slingerland.
