HONORING Katie Stone upon the occasion of being
named Grand Marshal of the 22nd Annual Irish Parade
of Camden, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
individuals of true purpose and worthy accomplishment who work
diligently to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Grand Marshal, King, and Queen of the 22nd Annual Irish Parade of
Camden, New York on Saturday, March 22, 2025; and

WHEREAS, The tradition of the Irish Parade of Camden is steeped in
years of history and brings members of the community and those from
further reaches together in celebration of Irish culture and
accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, The Grand Marshal of this year's Irish Parade is Katie
Stone, a lifelong resident of Camden who exhibits great St. Patrick's
Day pride, as well as pride for her beloved community; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of Camden and Herkimer Community Colleges, Katie
Stone holds stake in the Camden community as the owner of Furbush Agency
of Eastern Shore Insurance since 2008; she is also the former president
of the Camden Chamber of Commerce, a role of lasting impact and
reverence; and

WHEREAS, In her leisure, Katie Stone enjoys playing golf and
snowmobiling, as well as spending time with her loving family; and

WHEREAS, With Katie Stone throughout her purposeful life of notable
achievement have been her two beloved children, Jared and Mara, and her
cherished husband, Dave; and

WHEREAS, The esteemed 2025 Parade King and Queen are Greg and
Rachael Short, residents of Camden whose devotion to community and
spirit of humanity shine bright in all their worthy endeavors; and

WHEREAS, This year, the parade will also feature the Camden
Continental Fife and Drum Band, as well as the Syracuse Scottish Pipe
Band; these talented acts serve to inspire festive cheer while honoring
the important Irish roots and influences which have shaped music for
centuries; and

WHEREAS, Through this heartfelt and compassionate expression, as
well as through their sustained commitment to the cultural vitality of
their Irish heritage, the Irish American people of the Camden area and
the State of New York bear witness to the deep faith and love of
humanity which is their rich tradition; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our

attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Grand Marshal, King, and Queen of the 22nd Annual Irish Parade
of Camden, New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Grand Marshal Katie Stone and King and Queen, Greg and
Rachael Short.
