HONORING Sophia Park upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2025 Citizenship
Advancement Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sophia Park upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2025 Citizenship Advancement Award, to be recognized at a senior
scholarship ceremony at W. T. Clarke High School on Monday, June 9,
2025; and

WHEREAS, Sophia Park, committed to hard work and a deep sense of
giving, has achieved excellence in academics, community service, and
extracurricular endeavors, justly earning this esteemed recognition; and

WHEREAS, A student at W. T. Clarke High School, Sophia Park is a
cherished member of Key Club, National Honor Society, English Honor
Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Science Honor Society, is the treasurer of
Business and Technology Honor Society, and is the president of Rho Kappa
Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, Further demonstrating her academic aptitude, Sophia Park is
a candidate for an Advanced Regents Diploma, a NAFtrack Certification,
and for a Business Management & Entrepreneur CTE Pathway Certification;
and

WHEREAS, With a variety of interests and abilities, Sophia Park has
experience as a nursing home volunteer, a summer learning program
classroom assistant, a political campaign volunteer, and has worked in a
textbook office, all of which have provided her with new skills and
knowledge, undoubtedly preparing her for a future of success in any
endeavor she sets out to pursue; and

WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
respected scholar and distinguished member of her community now stands
honorably with just pride in her accomplishments and in eager
anticipation of all her future endeavors and limitless opportunities;
and

WHEREAS, It is of utmost importance to honor the youth of today-the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sophia Park upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2025 Citizenship Advancement Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sophia Park.
