COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of The Kiwanis
Club of Glens Falls, New York on March 25, 2025
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls,
New York on March 25, 2025; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls, New York is one of 7,000
clubs worldwide which follows the global mission of "dedication to
improving the world one child, one community at a time"; and
WHEREAS, Part of the New York District and Mohawk Division, the
Glens Falls Kiwanis Club is the largest club in the Mohawk Division (28
divisions) and one of the largest in New York State; its motto is
"serving the children of the world"; and
WHEREAS, For the past four years, the club was awarded the
"Distinguished Club" honor from the New York District, and its president
and secretary have received "Distinguished" accolades as well; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls has 75 devoted members
whose purposeful endeavors align with the 367,000 Kiwanis members
working worldwide to further the positive impact of this revered
organization's mission; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls' focus is on the human
spirit rather than the material values of life; to promote higher
social, business and professional standards they stress friendship,
enhancing leadership skills, community service, and civic pride; and
WHEREAS, In acts to foster the development of local youth, our
nation's most valuable resource, The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls works
in 10 area high schools through Kiwanis Key Clubs; its foundation offers
over $40,000 in annual scholarships to area seniors and has given over
$250,000 in funding since 1989; and
WHEREAS, Community service is at the forefront of the operations of
The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls; through its established committees, the
organization organizes and executes hands-on service projects and
fundraising events to support its local non-profits, with a major
fundraising drive planned for March-April of 2025; and
WHEREAS, The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls has positively impacted
countless organizations and has hosted a myriad of community events,
such as providing books to Head Start kids, hosting a golf tournament in
collaboration with the Tri County United Way, supporting Kamp Kiwanis
for underserved youth each summer, and numerous more instances of valued
giving; and
WHEREAS, The success of The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its dedicated members, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls,
New York on March 25, 2025; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls.
