HONORING Nicolette Pellegrino for her exemplary
service to her community and the State of New York

WHEREAS, The Great State of New York is only as great as those
individuals who perform exemplary service on behalf of their
communities, whether through unique achievement in professional or other
endeavors or simply through a lifetime of good citizenship; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
this year's Shining Star, Nicolette Pellegrino, to be recognized at the
Pace University's 30th Annual Law Leadership Dinner at the Westchester
Country Club in Rye, New York, on Thursday, March 27, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Nicolette Pellegrino is Assistant Director of Legal
Recruitment at the New York City Law Department where she assists the
Law Department in recruiting and hiring and presents Continuing Legal
Education and other training programs; and

WHEREAS, Formerly, Nicolette Pellegrino served as Senior Counsel in
the Special Federal Litigation Division of the New York City Law
Department where she defended the City of New York in federal civil
rights actions, supervised first-year attorneys, and created and
presented officewide Continuing Legal Education programs; and

WHEREAS, Based on her performance at the Law Department, Nicolette
Pellegrino has been awarded the Municipal Affairs Award in 2024, a
Division Chief Award in 2022, and Rookie of the Year in 2019; and

WHEREAS, Nicolette Pellegrino also serves as Adjunct Professor at
Pace University's Elisabeth Haub School of Law, teaching the Flex JD
program's Legal Methods course; and

WHEREAS, As a student at Elisabeth Haub School of Law, Nicolette
Pellegrino served as Promotions Editor of the Pace Environmental Law
Review, President of the Public Interest Law Students Organization, and
a research assistant; and

WHEREAS, Nicolette Pellegrino also participated in moot court,
served as a Pro Bono Scholar, where she interned at the Pace Women's
Justice Center, and participated in the Federal Judicial Honors Program
where she interned for the United States District Court for the Southern
District of New York; and

WHEREAS, Nicolette Pellegrino received a Bachelor of Arts degree
from the University of Delaware in 2015, graduating cum laude, and her
Juris Doctor degree from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University
in 2018, graduating magna cum laude; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Nicolette Pellegrino for her exemplary service to her community and the
State of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nicolette Pellegrino.
