COMMEMORATING the 80th Anniversary of the Lake
Delta Fire Department and its long, distinguished
history of service to the community

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend fire departments of the State of New York that have exhibited a
long and sustained commitment to excellence in fire protection and
emergency services, significantly contributing to the safety and
well-being of their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Lake Delta Fire Department and
its long, distinguished history of service to the community, to be
honored at an Anniversary Celebration at Beeches Manor in Rome, New
York, on Saturday, March 29, 2025; and

WHEREAS, The Lake Delta Fire Department was established in 1945; the
Department proudly serves the citizens of Rome, Lee, and Western New
York; the mission of the Department is to protect the lives and property
of its contracted fire area from fires and hazardous incidents and to
provide emergency medical services with dedication and professionalism;
and

WHEREAS, As a 100% volunteer-driven organization, the members of the
Lake Delta Fire Department are committed to ensuring the safety and
well-being of their neighbors, day in and day out, and making a
difference in the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, Committed to excellence, the Lake Delta Fire Department's
trained firefighters and emergency responders provide decades of
experience and expertise to every situation; they are ready to respond
to all emergencies quickly and effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a
week; and

WHEREAS, Building strong relationships with the community is at the
heart of what the firefighters of the Lake Delta Fire Department do, and
they value open communication, trust, and collaboration to ensure the
protection of the citizens of Rome, Lee, and Western New York; and

WHEREAS, The strength and success of the Lake Delta Fire Department
are built upon the dedication of its volunteer firefighters, past and
present, who have demonstrated bravery, resilience, and an unwavering
commitment to duty in the face of adversity; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of organizations which uphold the highest standards of
public service and self-sacrifice, ensuring the continued safety and
prosperity of their communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Lake Delta Fire Department and
its long, distinguished history of service to the community, honoring

its achievements, dedication, and the vital role it plays in the region
of Rome, Lee, and Western New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Lake Delta Fire Department.
