CONGRATULATING Patrick Grimsey upon the occasion
of capturing the NYSPHSAA Division II Boys Wrestling
Championship in the 145lbs weight class on March 1,
2025

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Patrick Grimsey upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA Division II
Boys Wrestling Championship in the 145lbs weight class at the MVP Arena
in Albany, New York, on Saturday, March 1, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Lowville Academy senior Patrick Grimsey is the first state
wrestling champion for Lowville Academy in 20 years; the win is expected
to inspire younger athletes in the program to strive for similar
success; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of red and white,
family members, friends, and the community at large loyally and
enthusiastically supported Patrick Grimsey throughout his journey as he
ended his season with an impressive overall record of 42-2; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this young man is due in
great part to the efforts of Coach Joe Widrick, a skilled and
inspirational tutor, respected for his ability to develop potential into
excellence; and

WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Patrick Grimsey has clearly contributed to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his school; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Patrick Grimsey upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA
Division II Boys Wrestling Championship in the 145lbs weight class on
March 1, 2025; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Patrick Grimsey, and Coach Joe Widrick.
