HONORING Darlene Stromstad upon the occasion of
her retirement after many years of distinguished
service to the Mohawk Valley Health System

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Darlene Stromstad upon the occasion of her retirement after many years
of distinguished service to the Mohawk Valley Health System on
Wednesday, December 31, 2025; and

WHEREAS, For the past several years, Darlene Stromstad rendered
faithful, conscientious, and valuable service to the Mohawk Valley
Health System; and

WHEREAS, In her capacity as President and CEO, Darlene Stromstad
served with loyalty, honor, and distinction; and

WHEREAS, As an integrated delivery system with approximately 648
million dollars in revenue, more than 3,300 full time equivalent
employees, and over 20,000 inpatient admissions and 825,000 outpatient
visits annually, the Mohawk Valley Health System is a complex and vital
organization in this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, An organization of such great importance requires a leader
with a keen sense of duty and a clear vision of success; Darlene
Stromstad is such a leader; her admirable service as President and CEO
has led the Mohawk Valley Health System to strengthen its system, expand
its services, navigate its challenges, and improve the lives of those
who utilize its care; and

WHEREAS, Darlene Stromstad is recognized as a respected leader in
healthcare administration, having previously served as interim CEO of
Fenway Health, President and CEO of Waterbury Hospital and the Greater
Waterbury Health Network, and President and CEO of Goodall Hospital; and

WHEREAS, The vast institutional knowledge and essential skills held
by Darlene Stromstad, developed over decades of experience in the
healthcare industry, allowed her to conscientiously lead her
organizations, and she has successfully stabilized financial positions,
rebuilt employee culture and morale, and nurtured future organizational
success; and

WHEREAS, Darlene Stromstad is known regionally and nationally for
her leadership through her active engagement in organizations such as
the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital
Association's Metropolitan Advisory Council, Connecticut Hospital
Association, Maine Hospital Association, Greater Waterbury United Way,
Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce, Naugatuck Community College, and
Sanford Downtown Legacy; and


WHEREAS, Darlene Stromstad's prosperous career has been filled with
meaningful work, incredible colleagues, and a shared commitment to
providing the best care to surrounding communities; she has earned the
admiration, esteem and affection of all who worked with her; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Darlene Stromstad upon the occasion of her retirement after many
years of distinguished service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Darlene Stromstad.
