COMMENDING Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris upon the
occasion of his 7th Pastoral Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to those individuals who distinguish
themselves and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and
preeminence of service; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Reverend
Dr. Frankco J. Harris upon the occasion of his 7th Pastoral Anniversary
to be honored at a Celebratory Banquet on Friday, April 25, 2025, at
Antun's in Queens Village, New York; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris has brought to his ministry
an overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and
enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and
professional integrity and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris hails from the home of the
Civil Rights Movement - Montgomery, Alabama; his father, Deacon and
Missionary Eddie F. Harris, kept him highly involved in the church from
an early age; and
WHEREAS, Earning a full music scholarship to Alabama Agricultural
and Mechanical University, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris shined as a
first tenor and lead soloist in the University Choir, and earned both
his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music education; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris' singing soon became
enriched with sermonic overtones, and he later enrolled in New York
Theological Seminary and received a Master of Professional Studies
(M.P.S.) in Urban Youth Ministry, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in
Religious Studies, and completed his Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degree
concentrating in Worship, Spirituality and Preaching at Drew University;
and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris is the recipient of various
awards within the community including the NAACP Rev. J.B. Watts
Distinguished Leadership Award, the Presidential Lifetime Achievement
Award and the Guy R. Brewer United Democratic Club Community Service
Award for Outstanding Leadership; and
WHEREAS, For seven years, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris has proudly
served as the Pastor of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church of Hollis in Hollis
Queens, New York, where his electrifying preaching and singing are a
blessing, and further deepen his relationship with his faith; and
WHEREAS, Under Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris' leadership, Mt.
Olivet Baptist Church of Hollis has grown spiritually and in membership,
with many revitalization projects completed and many more set to take
place; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris promotes his non-profit
organization, F.A.M.E. (Frankco's Academy for Music Education), where he
serves as President and CEO in the endorsement of music education for
inner city youth; and
WHEREAS, Married to Valerie Harris, a New York City teacher,
Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris, along with his wife, have found a zeal
for educating youth and helping them to explore their inherent talents;
they are also the proud parents of a precious beloved son, Frankco, and
adored daughter Janae; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished man of faith has always given
enlightenment, guidance, and wisdom to the many entrusted to his care
and has administered abundantly and unstintingly to the spiritual and
corporal needs of all; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that
individual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris upon the occasion of his 7th
Pastoral Anniversary, noting his unremitting and compassionate faith and
his exemplary service to church, man, and his community, and extending
to him the heartfelt best wishes of this Legislative Body for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Reverend Dr. Frankco J. Harris.
