COMMEMORATING the 9th Annual Fundraiser Benefit
hosted by the 69th Precinct Community Council
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
organizations and events that strengthen the bonds between law
enforcement and the communities they serve and work diligently to
promote public trust, civic involvement, and neighborhood well-being;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to commemorate the 69th
Precinct Community Council's 9th Annual Fundraiser Benefit on Thursday,
May 1, 2025; and
WHEREAS, The 69th Precinct Community Council, based in Canarsie,
Brooklyn, serves as a vital liaison between local residents and the New
York Police Department (NYPD), working to enhance transparency,
collaboration, and accountability while addressing issues that affect
public safety and quality of life; and
WHEREAS, The Annual Fundraiser Benefit is a celebration of
partnership, recognizing the shared efforts of community members, local
leaders, and law enforcement officers to create a safer, more connected,
and resilient neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, The proceeds from this event support ongoing community
outreach, youth programming, public forums, and crime prevention
initiatives, all of which are critical to fostering mutual understanding
and inclusive progress; and
WHEREAS, The 69th Precinct Community Council has demonstrated
exemplary leadership in bringing together residents from all walks of
life to collaborate on meaningful solutions, advocate for equity, and
promote a shared sense of responsibility for the well-being of Canarsie;
and
WHEREAS, Events, such as the Annual Fundraiser Benefit, affirm the
importance of community-police partnerships in building trust, promoting
dialogue, and creating an environment where all individuals feel safe,
respected, and valued; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 69th Precinct Community Council's 9th Annual Fundraiser
Benefit and applaud its enduring efforts to uplift, protect, and unify
the Canarsie community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the 69th Precinct Community Council in recognition of
this important occasion.
