COMMEMORATING the 2025 Veterans Everyday 5K
Run/Walk and recognizing its role in honoring and
supporting veterans through community engagement and
wellness

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend events that foster community spirit, promote public health, and
honor the service of our Nation's veterans; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 2025 Veterans Everyday 5K Run/Walk to be held at
Prospect Park, Parkside Avenue & Parade Place, in Brooklyn, New York, on
Saturday, May 10, 2025; and

WHEREAS, The Veterans Everyday 5K Run/Walk is organized by the
B.V.S.J. Veterans Service Organization, a nonprofit which is dedicated
to supporting veterans through housing, employment, and community
services and is part of their broader Veterans Everyday Campaign; and

WHEREAS, This annual event serves as a tribute to the sacrifices
made by veterans, bringing together individuals of all ages and
backgrounds to participate in a 5K run or walk, thereby promoting
physical wellness and community solidarity; and

WHEREAS, Proceeds from the event support the ongoing efforts of the
B.V.S.J. Veterans Service Organization to provide essential services to
veterans, including housing assistance, employment programs, and
community outreach; and

WHEREAS, The 2025 Veterans Everyday 5K Run/Walk exemplifies the
values of service, community, and health and stands as a testament to
the enduring respect and gratitude owed to our veterans; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 2025 Veterans Everyday 5K Run/Walk and to recognize the
efforts of the B.V.S.J. Veterans Service Organization in honoring and
supporting veterans through this meaningful event; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the organizers of the 2025 Veterans Everyday 5K Run/Walk.
