MOURNING the death of Robert Galazin,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his
community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Robert Galazin of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, died on
Friday, April 25, 2025, at the age of 71; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 13, 1953, to the late Mary Balitchik and
Stanley Galazin, Robert Galazin grew up with a strong commitment to
community and family; and
WHEREAS, On October 12, 1974, Robert Galazin married the love of his
life, Marlene Seelke and they shared a blissful life full of love,
laughter and mutual respect; and
WHEREAS, Robert Galazin distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Possessing a deep commitment to his community, Robert
Galazin worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years until he
retired; he also served his community by working with the Croton Police
Department for 15 years; and
WHEREAS, Robert Galazin's commitment to excellence, and his spirit
of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, With a generous spirit, a strong work ethic, profound love
for his family and a caring nature Robert Galazin was a well-respected
figure in his community; and
WHEREAS, Through his love of the Green Bay Packers, the New York
Mets and hunting, Robert Galazin embraced life by taking joy from his
interests; and
WHEREAS, Robert Galazin is survived by his devoted wife Marlene
Galazin; his cherished son Stephen; daughter-in-law Azalia; his adored
granddaughter Beatrice, who brought immense joy to his life; his brother
Stanley and sister-in-law Mary; his sister Barbara; his brother-in-law
Kurt Seelke and his wife Sheila; several nieces, nephews, cousins,
aunts, and uncles; and
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, kindness, and humor, Robert Galazin's
presence was a comfort to those who knew him; he leaves behind a legacy
of devotion to his family and his community, and a life full of
meaningful contributions; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Robert Galazin leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Robert Galazin, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Robert Galazin.
