RECOGNIZING May 8, 2025, as a day to honor the
work of Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to empowering
and uplifting young women throughout the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region is a nationally
recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be
strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy; and

WHEREAS, For over 85 years, Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region
has provided thousands of girls across the Capital Region with
life-changing programs focused on education, health, and leadership
development, equipping them with the skills and confidence necessary to
succeed in life; and

WHEREAS, Through mentorship, research-based programming, and
advocacy, Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region fosters an
environment where girls are encouraged to pursue their dreams, break
barriers, and achieve economic independence; and

WHEREAS, The work of Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region is
particularly vital in promoting gender equity, increasing access to STEM
education, and providing leadership opportunities for young women,
helping them become the leaders of tomorrow; and

WHEREAS, On May 8, 2025, Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region
and its supporters will come together to celebrate and recognize the
organization's dedication and impact on young women's lives; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to honor Girls Inc. of the
Greater Capital Region for its continued dedication to strengthening
communities by investing in the potential of girls and young women
throughout the Capital Region; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
recognize May 8, 2025, as a day to honor the work of Girls Inc. of the
Greater Capital Region and its invaluable contributions to the success
and empowerment of young women in the Capital Region; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region.
