CONGRATULATING Howard and Patricia Gleasman upon
the occasion of celebrating their 60th Wedding
Anniversary
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes great pleasure in paying
tribute to flourishing marriages that have stood the test of time and
serve as a paradigm for present and future generations; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to congratulate
Howard and Patricia Gleasman upon the occasion of celebrating their 60th
Wedding Anniversary on Thursday, November 21, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Howard Gleasman married Patricia Frey at the First
Presbyterian Church in Boonville, New York; the couple were blessed with
three children, Susan, Jason, and Deborah; and
WHEREAS, Howard Gleasman was a representative and manager for
Eastman Kodak and 3M Products in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area;
Patricia Gleasman was a former editor of the "Boonville Herald" and
operated a photography studio while in New Jersey; together, the couple
established the "Delaware Ten Pins" newspaper; when the couple decided
to move back to Boonville, they started the "North Country Pictorial"
newspaper; and
WHEREAS, Howard Gleasman loved building all of his life so he and
Patricia started Tall Pines Properties, Inc., which catered to
Adirondack-style homes and summer cabins; Howard enjoyed using his
backhoe to landscape the properties and design the driveways with his
signature use of large boulders; and
WHEREAS, As Howard and Patricia Gleasman grew older, they decided to
slow down so they built two seasonal rentals and established a busy
Airbnb business; they still enjoy meeting new people from the United
States and around the world and run the Airbnbs with the help of their
daughter, Susan Whitehead; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, Howard and Patricia Gleasman enjoyed the
growth of their family, welcoming grandchildren, Zachary and Rachael
Whitehead and Gunnar, Axel, Thor, Bode, and Nash Gleasman, who are all
involved in playing sports; their late daughter, Deborah, has been
"watching over the family from Heaven"; and
WHEREAS, Howard and Patricia Gleasman enjoy traveling, walking,
hiking, and keeping up with their children and grandchildren; Howard is
a lifelong deer and elk hunter and loves to fish; he still enjoys
working with his backhoe and doing rock work on his properties; and
WHEREAS, Although Howard and Patricia Gleasman are no longer young,
they follow the words of Norman Vincent Peale, "Live your life, and
forget your age," and they also believe in doing everything in
moderation; and
WHEREAS, The love, devotion, and caring Howard and Patricia Gleasman
have shown to their family, friends, and all who know them are their
hallmark and tradition; this meaningful occasion is the result of the
love, hard work, and spirit they have invested in their happy marriage;
and
WHEREAS, Howard and Patricia Gleasman have lived, and continue to
live, their lives with great dignity and genuine grace, always
demonstrating a deep and continuing concern for human values and ideals,
and in so doing, they have inspired others to do the same; they are, and
always have been, a tower of strength, support, understanding, and
limitless love for their family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Howard and Patricia Gleasman have touched the lives of
their family and many friends through the shining example of their
marriage which is a testament to their devotion and admiration for each
other; the longevity of this enduring marriage truly marks a milestone
in life's journey, an event of personal triumph and joy; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that, when an
occasion of such importance is brought to our attention, the same should
be memorialized by us for the edification and emulation of others; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Howard and Patricia Gleasman upon the occasion of
celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Howard and Patricia Gleasman.
