COMMEMORATING the 180th Annual Prince Hall Grand
Lodge Divine Service and recognizing its enduring
spiritual and fraternal significance
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge and
honor longstanding traditions that uplift spiritual values, community
fellowship, and the moral foundations that guide civic and fraternal
life; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
proud traditions, this Legislative Body is pleased to commemorate the
180th Annual Prince Hall Grand Lodge Divine Service, to be held on
Sunday, May 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, The Grand Lodge Divine Service, held annually by the Most
Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New York, represents
one of the most sacred and unifying gatherings in the fraternal
calendar, drawing together Masons from across the state in reverence and
reflection; and
WHEREAS, This year's service marks a significant milestone, the
180th anniversary, a testament to the enduring faith, fellowship, and
commitment to spiritual growth that has guided the Prince Hall Masonic
tradition for generations; and
WHEREAS, The Divine Service serves not only as a religious
observance, but also as a reaffirmation of the moral and ethical
obligations embraced by Prince Hall Masons and is rooted in brotherly
love, relief, and truth; and
WHEREAS, The Prince Hall Grand Lodge continues to play a vital role
in the civic and cultural life of New York's communities through
charitable work, leadership development, and the promotion of unity
across diverse backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, This sacred gathering offers a moment of reflection,
gratitude, and rededication to the values that have sustained this
esteemed organization for nearly two centuries; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 180th Annual Grand Lodge Divine Service on May 18, 2025,
and to extend its highest commendation to the Most Worshipful Prince
Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New York for its enduring commitment to
faith, service, and brotherhood; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Most Worshipful Darren M. Morton, Ed.D., Grand Master, in
recognition of this historic occasion and his leadership of this
venerable institution.
