COMMENDING the 1958-59 Mont Pleasant High School
Wrestling Team upon the occasion of being honored at
the Special Legacy Tribute during the 27th Annual
Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of
Fame and Reunion Dinner on September 15, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
outstanding athletes who inspired and brought pride to their school and
community through outstanding achievements in competition, attaining
unprecedented success and the highest level of personal achievement; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the 1958-59 Mont Pleasant High School Wrestling Team upon the
occasion of being honored at the Special Legacy Tribute during the 27th
Annual Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Fame and
Reunion Dinner on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Event Center at
Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady, New York; and

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, teamwork, and team spirit, and
is nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical
development of the youth of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success, and developing a sense
of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, Coached by Athletic Hall of Famer Larry Mulvaney, the
1958-59 Mont Pleasant High School Wrestling Team won nine of the ten
weight classes in the Sectional championships and was a Sectional
runner-up (in the tenth weight class); and

WHEREAS, The 1958-59 Mont Pleasant High School Wrestling Team
Sectional Champions were John Cain, Fred Yanni, Dave DeLorenzo, Jack
Keller, Tom Andriano, Bob Ciabotti, Carm Parisi, Joe DeMeo, Dave
Jablonski, and Don Male, who was runner-up in the unlimited class; and

WHEREAS, The top overall records for individuals on the 1958-59 Mont
Pleasant High School Wrestling Team included Ciabotti (12-1), DeLorenzo
(12 1), Parisi (11-1), DeMeo, who is a member of the Schenectady City
School District Athletic Hall of Fame (9-1), Jablonski (7-1-3) and Cain
(10-2); and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and teams of such outstanding athletic accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the 1958-59 Mont Pleasant High School Wrestling Team
members: John Cain, Fred Yanni, Dave DeLorenzo, Jack Keller, Tom

Andriano, Bob Ciabotti, Carm Parisi, Joe DeMeo, Dave Jablonski and Don
Male on their sustained excellence and overall team record; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members and coaches of the 1958-59 Mont Pleasant High
School Wrestling Team.
