CONGRATULATING Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., upon the
occasion of her retirement, as President, after 36
years of distinguished service to SUNY Adirondack

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., upon the occasion of her
retirement in July 2025, as President, after 36 years of distinguished
service to SUNY Adirondack; and

WHEREAS, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., is SUNY Adirondack's seventh
president and has significant experience in higher education in New York
State; during her tenure, she worked closely with her staff and the SUNY
Adirondack Board of Trustees to ensure a bright future for the
University; and

WHEREAS, For seven years, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., served as Vice
President of Enrollment Management and Student Services at Onondaga
Community College and six years as Dean of Enrollment Management at
Cayuga Community College; prior to that position, she held positions in
high school counseling and college admissions in the Capital District;
and

WHEREAS, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., earned her Bachelor of Science in
Business Administration from SUNY Brockport, her Master of Science in
Guidance and Counseling from Russell Sage College, and her Doctor of
Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College; and

WHEREAS, Involved with the community through several board
positions, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., is a member of Warren County
Economic Development Council, Saratoga Economic Development Council,
Glens Falls National Bank, and the Upstate Agency Board of Directors;
and

WHEREAS, Additionally, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., serves on the Rural
Community College Alliance and as Past President of the New York State
Community College Association of Presidents; she has also served on the
boards of Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and Greater Glens
Falls YMCA; and

WHEREAS, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., assisted the College in securing
and investing nearly $45 million in federal, state, county, and private
gifts and grants to improve nursing, science, athletic, and student
service-related facilities; and

WHEREAS, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., also improved direct support
services to students; nearly 90,000 square feet of facilities have been
constructed or renovated; in 2016, she was honored with the Community
Champion Award from Hudson Headwaters Health Network; and


WHEREAS, Throughout her 36 years of dedication and service to SUNY
Adirondack, Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., has forged a path in an
ever-changing digital economy, expanded its extensive offerings of
campus facilities and technologies, and planned for the future; for
these outstanding accomplishments, she has earned the admiration,
esteem, and affection of her colleagues; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., upon the occasion of her
retirement, as President, after 36 years of distinguished service to
SUNY Adirondack; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D.
