CONGRATULATING the Ardsley High School Varsity
Girls Basketball Team upon the occasion of capturing
the 2025 NYSPHSAA Basketball Class A Championship on
March 22, 2025

WHEREAS, Individual and team sports are highly competitive, holding
championship tournaments for competing teams, reserving the state
championship title for only the best team; and

WHEREAS, Sports and athletic activities promote physical, mental,
and emotional prowess within our young New Yorkers, instilling a fire to
strive for excellence that matures alongside the athlete, driving them
to unparalleled heights; and

WHEREAS, Student athletes challenge their body and minds, whether on
the court or classroom, they juggle their responsibilities while
bolstering their teamwork, excellence, and competitive spirit, qualities
that will benefit their futures greatly; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is immensely proud to congratulate
the Ardsley High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team upon the occasion
of capturing the 2025 NYSPHSAA Basketball Class A Championship on
Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Surrounded by enthusiastic family members, friends, and
fans, the Ardsley Panthers team was victorious over the Wantagh
Warriors, ending with a final score of 39-28, finalizing their 24-3
season record and winning Ardsley High School's first basketball state
championship title; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Ardsley High School Varsity Girls
Basketball Team display incredible mastery and professionalism in the
realm of basketball, forming intense bonds of sisterhood and friendship
that will last long after they retire their blue and gold uniforms; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Nick Resavy and Assistant Coach Danielle
Scaperrotta have worked tirelessly to mold each and every athlete since
their elementary school travel basketball team; ensuring their skills,
mentality, and teamwork were worthy of a championship team and
instilling values that transcend both on and off the court; and

WHEREAS, The athletes on the Ardsley High School Varsity Girls
Basketball Team have utilized dedication and drive that have become a
staple of Ardsley High School, bringing home the sixth overall state
championship title in school history to a supportive and adoring Ardsley
community, truly exemplifying Ardsley High School's tradition of
excellence; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Ardsley High School Varsity Girls
Basketball Team: Joie M. Levy, Madison Bortstein, Iva Corluka, Lily
Tiernan, Dylan Paley, Whitney Butler, Elise O'Brien, Morgan Macri,

Teagan Kenny, Ava Santavicca, Leah Burriss, and Mia Stanton; Head Coach
Nick Resavy; and Assistant Coach Danielle Scaperrotta upon the occasion
of capturing the 2025 NYSPHSAA Basketball Class A Championship on March
22, 2025; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Ardsley High School Varsity Girls
Basketball Team; Head Coach Nick Resavy; and Assistant Coach Danielle
Scaperrotta.
