HONORING Sally Hogenhauer upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Port
Jewish Center on June 14, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals of exceptional character and commitment whose
purposeful endeavors serve to enhance the quality of life in their
communities and across the great State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sally Hogenhauer upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Port Jewish Center at its Annual Gala, "Fueling Our
Future," on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Harbor Links in Port Washington,
New York; and

WHEREAS, The Port Jewish Center is recognizing the dedicated leaders
of its committees whose tireless efforts ensure the Center's spiritual,
financial, and physical vitality; through their work, these committed
congregants uphold the core tenets of Reform Judaism-pursuing justice,
fostering community, caring for others, and repairing the world-thus
safeguarding the Center's mission and lasting presence for generations
to come; and

WHEREAS, Sally Hogenhauer has been a valued member of the Port
Jewish Center for 14 years, during which time she has contributed to the
vibrancy and warmth of the community through her dedication and creative
spirit; and

WHEREAS, As the leader of the Beautification Committee, Sally
Hogenhauer has transformed the Port Jewish Center's grounds into a place
of color, tranquility, and welcome; her horticultural talents and
thoughtful stewardship of the Center's gardens have resulted in a
landscape that reflects both care and community pride; and

WHEREAS, With each new season, the blooming plants and vibrant
greenery nurtured by Sally Hogenhauer bring joy and serenity to
congregants and visitors alike, creating an inviting and uplifting
environment that enhances the spiritual life of the Port Jewish Center;
and

WHEREAS, In addition to her work in beautification, Sally Hogenhauer
serves as a member of the Port Jewish Center's Board of Trustees, where
her leadership and vision contribute to the governance and future of the
congregation; and

WHEREAS, Through her dedication to both the physical and communal
well-being of the Port Jewish Center, Sally Hogenhauer has made a
lasting impact, ensuring that all who enter are greeted by beauty,
warmth, and a sense of home; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a thoughtful and
committed individual, whose quiet efforts speak volumes and whose

service enhances the daily experience of an entire community; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sally Hogenhauer upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Port Jewish Center, and to extend its sincere
appreciation for her generous service and meaningful contributions; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sally Hogenhauer.
