CONGRATULATING the Pavilion/York Air Rifle Team
upon the occasion of winning the New York State
Rifle Invitational Championship in the
Three-Position Event

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in scholastic sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of discipline, responsibility,
and fair play; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Pavilion/York Air Rifle Team upon the occasion of winning the New York
State Rifle Invitational Championship in the Three-Position Event on
Saturday, March 1, 2026, in Orchard Park, New York; in a remarkable
performance, the team achieved a program-record score of 1,143 to secure
the state title; and

WHEREAS, Representing Pavilion/York in the three-position
competition were seniors Cooper Harkins and Tyler Brian, and juniors
Myra Beardsley, Emily Harwood, and Jayden Harkins; the standing match
team included senior Cooper Harkins, juniors Emily Harwood, Myra
Beardsley, and Jayden Harkins, and sophomore Jesse Brian; and

WHEREAS, The team's success was further highlighted by outstanding
individual accomplishments, including Tyler Brian and Emily Harwood each
achieving their first-ever perfect targets in the prone position;
additionally, Myra Beardsley earned top individual honors as the highest
shooter in the kneeling position and was named the overall champion in
both the standing and three-position matches; and

WHEREAS, Proudly representing their schools and communities, the
Pavilion/York Air Rifle Team demonstrated perseverance, dedication, and
sportsmanship throughout a historic season, finishing undefeated in
league competition, capturing both Section V titles, and ultimately
claiming the state championship; and

WHEREAS, In a sport requiring precision, discipline, and intense
concentration, Head Coach Jenny Harkins has devoted countless hours to
developing the talents and character of these young athletes, guiding
them toward excellence and instilling lessons which will prove
invaluable throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS, Coach Jenny Harkins and all of the outstanding athletes on
the Pavilion/York Air Rifle Team have clearly displayed growth,
determination, and success, serving as shining examples of teamwork and
commitment; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Pavilion/York Air Rifle Team: Myra
Beardsley, Emily Harwood, Cooper Harkins, Jayden Harkins, Tyler Brian,
and Jesse Brian; and Head Coach Jenny Harkins upon the occasion of
winning the New York State Rifle Invitational Championship in the
Three-Position Event; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Pavilion/York Air Rifle Team; Head
Coach Jenny Harkins; and the appropriate school administrators and
athletic officials in recognition of this outstanding achievement.
