WELCOMING Pakistani American businesses to the
Legislative Chambers in Albany, New York on March
18, 2026, and recognizing their vast contributions
to the State of New York and the City of Yonkers

WHEREAS, Pakistani American businesses have deep roots in Yonkers,
Westchester County, New York City, and New York State; The Pakistani
American business community has made significant contributions to the
economic growth, job creation, and cultural diversity of Yonkers and the
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Pakistani American entrepreneurs and business owners
operate successful enterprises throughout New York State in industries
including retail, hospitality, technology, finance, healthcare, and real
estate, strengthening local economies and revitalizing communities; and

WHEREAS, New York State is proud to be home to numerous
Pakistani-American businesses and organizations whose leadership and
success enrich our state's cultural social and economic fabric; and

WHEREAS, Pakistani-American businesses serve as important economic
and cultural bridges, fostering trade, investment, and people-to-people
engagement between New York State and Pakistan; and

WHEREAS, Strengthening and recognizing ties between the State of New
York, the Pakistani-American business community, and the provinces of
Pakistan promotes mutual understanding and economic collaboration; and

WHEREAS, Pakistan's provinces-Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and
Balochistan-offer significant opportunities for trade, investment,
innovation, and partnership with New York State, benefiting businesses,
workers, and communities in both regions; and

WHEREAS, Pakistani American business leaders and entrepreneurs have
also demonstrated a strong commitment to philanthropy, social
responsibility, and community service in New York State and abroad; and

WHEREAS, The City of Yonkers, one of the most diverse cities in the
State of New York, has long been a welcoming home to immigrant
communities and small businesses and is honored to celebrate the
Pakistani American business community; and

WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper to recognize and honor the
contributions of Pakistani American businesses to the prosperity,
diversity, and economic vitality of the State of New York; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the State of New York take measures, as appropriate,
to support and promote efforts of Pakistan American businesses to deepen
trade and investment linkages between New York and Pakistan; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New
York; the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York City; and the
American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG).
