CONGRATULATING the Chatham High School Varsity
Boys Baseball Team upon the occasion of capturing
the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship on June 8, 2024

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Chatham High School Varsity Boys Baseball Team upon the occasion of
capturing the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship on Saturday, June 8, 2024,
at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton, New York; and

WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the
Panthers defeated the Burke Catholic Eagles in a thrilling 11-5 victory
to secure their third consecutive Class C title; this is a New York
State Section 2 record; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors, family, friends, and
the community at large loyally and enthusiastically supported the
Panthers throughout their journey as they ended their season with an
impressive 24-4 overall record; and

WHEREAS, In post-season play, the Chatham High School Varsity Boys
Baseball Team achieved a .335 batting average and outscored their
opponents 82-25 across eight sectional, regional, and state games;
further, over the past three state title runs, the Panthers have
compiled an extraordinary 76-7 record; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as baseball, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Head Coach Scott Steltz and Assistant
Coaches Dan Doyle, Joe Williams, Jordan McComb, Kyle Wilber and Chris
Kelly worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team, teaching
these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on
and off the field; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Scott Steltz and all of the outstanding athletes
on the Chatham High School Varsity Boys Baseball Team have clearly
utilized dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Chatham High School Varsity Boys
Baseball Team: Sean Harrington, Zach Ellis, Cam Elcox, Cooper Steltz,
Logan Smalley, Tate Van Alstyne, Hunter Kelly, Jacob Taylor, Owen

Wilber, Brody Casivant, Thomas Pierro, L.J. Morse, Bronson Haner,
Jameson Balich, Kiah Pinto, Brayden Steltz, Austin Laurange, Landon Van
Alstyne, and Jackson Carl; Head Coach Scott Steltz; and Assistant
Coaches Dan Doyle, Joe Williams, Jordan McComb, Kyle Wilber and Chris
Kelly upon the occasion of capturing the NYSPHSAA Class C Championship
on June 8, 2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Chatham High School Varsity Boys
Baseball Team; Head Coach Scott Steltz; and Assistant Coaches Dan Doyle,
Joe Williams, Jordan McComb, Kyle Wilber and Chris Kelly.
