HONORING Dr. Andrise Bass upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition at the Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala on
March 9, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals whose leadership, dedication, and service have
transformed communities and improved lives; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dr. Andrise Bass upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala, to
be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in celebration of Women's History
Month under the theme "Women of Destiny"; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Andrise Bass is a beacon of inspiration who truly
embodies visionary leadership and unwavering dedication in her tireless
pursuit of creating a world of equality and positive change; and

WHEREAS, With a career spanning an impressive 29 years in the
private and nonprofit sectors, Dr. Andrise Bass has established herself
as a dynamic leader, renowned mentor, accomplished author, and
passionate advocate on a global scale; and

WHEREAS, As the founder of the Humanitarian Focus Foundation in
2009, Dr. Andrise Bass has demonstrated her steadfast commitment to
making a profound difference in the lives of others; her pioneering work
in Haiti earned her an Honorary Mention from Walden University for her
transformative reading program, which impacted the lives of over 1,600
children; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, her advocacy for education equity has left an
indelible mark in Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Gambia, Peru,
Uganda, and Guinea of Africa, bringing about significant positive change
in communities worldwide; and

WHEREAS, Beyond education, Dr. Andrise Bass's impact extends to
critical social issues, including human rights, social development,
peacebuilding, immigration reform, and migration assessment; she
established the Institute of Public Policy & Diplomacy Research to
address these issues and empower individuals to create lasting peace for
a better future; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Andrise Bass has received two Honorary Doctorate
degrees for her humanitarian work and leadership, underscoring her
commitment to advancing peace and conflict resolution on a global scale;
and

WHEREAS, As a respected consultant for the United Nations, Dr.
Andrise Bass spearheads initiatives transcending borders and chairs the
NGO Sustainable Development NY; her organization, the Humanitarian Focus
Foundation, is associated with the UN Department of Communication and

the Youth and Capacity Building Department, further solidifying her
influence on the global stage; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Andrise Bass's impact is not confined to policy and
diplomacy; she is also a dedicated educator, mentor, and motivational
speaker; through her books on leadership, business, and sustainable
development diplomacy, she empowers individuals to become leaders in
their fields and advocates for minority women speakers; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Andrise Bass exemplifies the spirit of leadership,
resilience, and service, using her expertise to uplift communities,
advocate for the underserved, and inspire the next generation of
healthcare professionals; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Andrise Bass upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala,
commending her for her unparalleled contributions to healthcare,
leadership, and community service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Andrise Bass.
