CONGRATULATING the Queensbury Boys Cross-Country
Ski Team upon the occasion of winning the NYSPHSAA
Nordic Skiing State Championship on February 25,
2025
WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Queensbury Boys Cross-Country Ski Team upon the occasion of winning the
NYSPHSAA Nordic Skiing State Championship on Tuesday, February 25, 2025,
at the North Creek Bowl; and
WHEREAS, Family, friends, and the community at large loyally and
enthusiastically supported the Queensbury Boys Cross-Country Ski Team
throughout their journey as they ended the season with their second
consecutive state title win; and
WHEREAS, On Monday, February 24, 2025, the start of a two-day
championship, the Queensbury Spartans competed in the Boys 7.5-kilometer
Classic Individual race, where they clinched the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 11th
place positions, positioning the team strongly for a chance at the
coveted championship title; and
WHEREAS, The following day, the determined team competed in the Boys
3x3K Skate Relay and in a magnificent display of athletic ability and
teamwork, finished in second place with a time of 21 minutes and 45.2
seconds, securing the Nordic Skiing State Championship for Queensbury;
and
WHEREAS, In a sport such as cross-country skiing, which demands
athletic prowess, endurance, speed, and agility, Coach Paul Allison
worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team, teaching these
outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on and off
the slopes; and
WHEREAS, Coach Paul Allison and the dedicated athletes of the
Queensbury Boys Cross-Country Ski Team have clearly utilized dedication,
determination, and resilience in providing a lasting contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Queensbury Boys Cross-Country Ski Team:
Josh Jenkin, Liam Davidson, Patrick Eppedico-Cirillo, Alden Guay, John
Luthringer, and Nickolas Gileski; and Coach Paul Allison on their
outstanding season; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Queensbury Boys Cross-Country Ski Team and Coach Paul
Allison.
