HONORING Firefighter Randy House upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition after 50
years of dedicated service to the Central Square
Fire Company No. 1

WHEREAS, It is important to recognize and honor those distinguished
officials and citizens who devote themselves to public service and
demonstrate great courage and diligence in providing for the care and
welfare of the citizens of their communities and this great Empire
State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Firefighter
Randy House upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
after 50 years of dedicated service to the Central Square Fire Company
No. 1, to be celebrated at the Annual Installation Banquet on Saturday,
March 22, 2025; and

WHEREAS, The firefighters of New York State are renowned throughout
the nation, and their reputation is synonymous with excellence in the
field of fire protection and prevention; and

WHEREAS, Since the early days of our nation's history, the volunteer
firefighter has been the cornerstone of our great country's efforts to
spare people and property from the ravages of fire; and

WHEREAS, It is these individuals who selflessly devote their lives
to the protection of others who justly deserve our thanks and
appreciation; and

WHEREAS, Over the past 50 years, Randy House has served the fire
department in numerous capacities, including 19 years as fire chief; and

WHEREAS, Randy House has served on the Oswego County Cause and
Origin Team, served as the Oswego County fire coordinator, and
represented the fire company at the New York State Fire Association of
Fire Chiefs; and

WHEREAS, Randy House has received many acknowledgments and accolades
for his years of dedication to fire and safety, which includes the Star
of Life Award, Oswego County Life Saving Award, fire fighter of the year
designation, and the Ted Burt Award; and

WHEREAS, Randy House has graciously shared his vast knowledge and
understanding of fire protection and fire safety through his many years
serving the fire department; and

WHEREAS, Volunteer firefighters not only provide a critical service
to the community but also engage in other activities of great benefit
and importance to the communities they serve; and

WHEREAS, Randy House sought to serve Central Square in additional
capacities and was elected village mayor in 2019; and

WHEREAS, Randy House has earned the respect and admiration of his
colleagues who view him as a true representative of what it means to be
a volunteer firefighter; and

WHEREAS, It takes dedication, a strong desire to help others, and a
tireless sense of community to forsake precious time with family and
friends to respond to the signal of a neighbor in need; Randy House is
such a firefighter; throughout 50 years of devoted service, he
heroically performed above and beyond the call of duty the
responsibilities that define the task of fire protection; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Firefighter Randy House upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the Central
Square Fire Company No. 1; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Firefighter Randy House.
