MOURNING the death of Michael Biuso, devoted
husband and father, and distinguished member of his
community

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Michael Biuso was one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Michael Biuso, noting the
significance of his purposeful life and accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Michael Biuso of Staten Island, New York, died on Tuesday,
February 18, 2025, at the age of 48; and

WHEREAS, The unity of our State and Nation is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Michael Biuso who upheld the values of
community life and who, through their hard work and dedication,
epitomized the best of humanity; and

WHEREAS, Michael Biuso distinguished himself in his profession,
serving the New York City Department of Sanitation since 2000; and

WHEREAS, Michael Biuso was the beloved husband to Cara Biuso; loving
father to Michael, Christian and Juliana Biuso; cherished son to Andrea
Gelfars and the late John Biuso; and dear brother to Thomas Murphy, Tara
Biuso and the late Brian Gelfars; he is also survived by his devoted fur
baby, Charlie; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Michael Biuso displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor those individuals who have displayed their commitment to the
betterment of their communities, and it is the intent of this
Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to Michael
Biuso, that future generations may know and appreciate his admirable
character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and esteem in
which he was held by his peers; and

WHEREAS, Michael Biuso's infinite selflessness and benevolence will
shine on through his family's vivid and happy memories; his insight and
strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light and hope to the
countless lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Michael Biuso leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all who
were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will be

deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Michael Biuso, and to express its deepest condolences
to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Michael Biuso.
