Assembly Resolution No. 405

HONORING the memory of the deceased members of the
New York State Assembly, in recognition of their
distinguished careers in public service
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those individuals of outstanding purpose whose lives were committed to
the pursuit of excellence in the conduct of the legislative process in
this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is further the sense of this Legislative Body that the
quality and character of life in the State of New York is greatly
enriched by the efforts of those individuals who devoted their lives to
public service; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the memory of the deceased members of the New York State Assembly, in
recognition of their distinguished careers in public service; and
WHEREAS, These deceased members of the New York State Assembly
served our State with dependability, honor and integrity, earning them
the respect and affection of their peers, while fulfilling the duties of
their positions and contributing significantly to the legislative
process of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Every person in New York State has most certainly
benefited, in one way or another, from the deep dedication, intelligence
and commitment that these members brought to their work with the New
York State Assembly; each of these members were loyal friends and
trusted advisors who had a profound impact on countless lives; they will
be deeply missed and truly merit the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body, representing the people of the State
of New York, is moved this day, with profound sorrow and deep regret, to
recognize the deaths of members of the New York State Assembly, noting
the significance of their purposeful lives and accomplishments which
will forever stand as an inspiration for others; and
WHEREAS, It is with hope that future generations understand the
value of public service to the citizens of this great Empire State,
while this Legislative Body recognizes these former members of the New
York State Assembly; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the deceased members of the New York State Assembly, and to
express its deepest condolences to their families; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the families of the deceased members of the New York
State Assembly.
