MEMORIALIZING Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim
May 5-9, 2025, as Legislative Staff Week in the
State of New York

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in recognizing the
valuable contribution of its varied professionals and pays tribute to
those who spend their lives serving our Great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to memorialize
Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim May 5-9, 2025, as Legislative Staff
Week in the State of New York, in conjunction with the observance of
National Legislative Staff Week; and

WHEREAS, Every day, legislative staff members work behind the scenes
to support the work of state legislatures; these professionals draft
bills, make statehouses accessible to the public, keep computer networks
secure, and facilitate daily functions of our esteemed State
Legislature; and

WHEREAS, During the week of May 5-9, the National Conference of
State Legislatures celebrates the contributions of legislative staff
members and considers the importance of both gratitude and recognition
in the legislative environment; and

WHEREAS, The State of New York is deeply appreciative of the hard
work, expertise, and dedication of its legislative staff members; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim May 5-9, 2025, as
Legislative Staff Week in the State of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New
York.
