COMMENDING Class of 2025 Valedictorian Lily Cook
of Mount St. Mary Academy, in recognition of her
outstanding accomplishments
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Class of
2025 Valedictorian Lily Cook of Mount St. Mary Academy, in recognition
of her outstanding accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian Lily Cook represents the best of developed
potential inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; her
achievements have brought enduring honor to her family and community and
should be recognized and saluted; and
WHEREAS, Graduating with outstanding honors, Valedictorian Lily Cook
was named a commended student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship
Program; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her stellar academic achievements,
Valedictorian Lily Cook was a dedicated student-athlete, serving as
captain of the Mount St. Mary Thunder Varsity Soccer Team and named MVP
for the 2024 season; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian Lily Cook engrossed herself in
extracurricular activities and community involvement at Mount St. Mary
Academy, having served as senior class president on the Student Council,
vice president of her school's chapter of the National Honor Society,
and president of the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Swing Choir Band;
and
WHEREAS, Volunteering was an important part of Valedictorian Lily
Cook's high school career, and her volunteer efforts earned her the Town
of Tonawanda Outstanding Youth Award in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian Lily Cook intends on continuing her academic
journey by studying mechanical engineering; and
WHEREAS, As Valedictorian Lily Cook takes leave of Mount St. Mary
Academy, she bestows a legacy of academic achievement, school
involvement and community service to which others may aspire; and
WHEREAS, Valedictorian Lily Cook may now stand with pride as she
assesses her achievements, experiences the satisfaction of her labor,
and feels the joy of her accomplishments, eager to face the new
experiences of a challenging world; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Class of 2025 Valedictorian Lily Cook of Mount St. Mary Academy,
in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Valedictorian Lily Cook.
