COMMENDING the Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley
Region upon the occasion of celebrating its 25th
Anniversary of service to the citizens of Oneida
County

WHEREAS, It is custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishment
whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the citizens of
the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley Region upon the occasion
of celebrating its 25th Anniversary of service to the citizens of Oneida
County and the Mohawk Valley Region; and

WHEREAS, The Genesis Group and its partners are a civic organization
that unites business and community leaders to work together to advance
regional economic, social, and cultural interests; and

WHEREAS, Since their start in 2000, the Genesis Group has fostered
unity and cooperation among community leaders, seen extraordinary
accomplishments, and created a stronger community in Oneida County and
beyond; and

WHEREAS, As the Genesis Group celebrate 25 meaningful years, they
continue their mission of supporting and strengthening their entire
region and staying committed to providing adaptive leadership skills for
today's changing times; and

WHEREAS, The Genesis Group dedication to communication over the past
25 years is exemplified by the many programs they offer for all levels
of education, small business assistance, community leader recognition,
community safety, and many more; and

WHEREAS, One of their five education programs is the Literacy
Program, an initiative to bring "Dolly Parton's Imagination Library" to
the Mohawk Valley Region, which would allow enrolled Mohawk Valley
children to receive a high-quality, age-appropriate books in the mail at
no cost to the families; and

WHEREAS, The Genesis Group also has a Small business Assistance
Program which provides grants and incentives to help support the needs
of small-businesses and non-profit organizations in the Mohawk Valley
region while maintaining a non-competitive process; and

WHEREAS, Since taking the Mohawk Valley Alliance of Chambers of
Commerce and Affiliate Partners into the fold of the organization, the
Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley Region has established the William K.
Guglielmo Legacy Award, a recognition presented to regional companies
who are positively impacting the Mohawk Valley business community; and

WHEREAS, It is in the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individual and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley Region upon the occasion
of celebrating its 25th Anniversary of service to the citizens of Oneida
County; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Genesis Group of the Mohawk Valley.
