COMMEMORATING the 131st Annual Convention of the
Central New York Firefighters Association, hosted by
the New York Mills Fire Department, July 18-20, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those enduring organizations that have demonstrated unwavering
service, bravery, and commitment to the safety and well-being of our
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 131st Annual Convention of the Central New York
Firefighters Association, to be held July 18-20, 2025, in New Hartford,
New York, and proudly hosted by the New York Mills Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1893, the Central New York
Firefighters Association (CNYFA) has served as a pillar of excellence in
fire service education, advocacy, and camaraderie, representing
volunteer and professional fire departments across the Central New York
region; and

WHEREAS, The Annual Convention provides an invaluable opportunity
for training, the exchange of knowledge and best practices, and the
strengthening of partnerships among departments which are dedicated to
protecting life and property; and

WHEREAS, The event brings together hundreds of dedicated
firefighters and emergency responders who exemplify courage, teamwork,
and service to others, embodying the very best of the fire service
tradition; and

WHEREAS, The New York Mills Fire Department, with its long-standing
history of commitment to the community and excellence in fire service,
serves as a fitting and welcoming host for this esteemed gathering; and

WHEREAS, The CNYFA Convention also provides a meaningful opportunity
to honor the sacrifices of those who serve and have served and to
recognize outstanding departments and individuals for exemplary service;
and

WHEREAS, It is appropriate for this Legislative Body to express its
appreciation for the Central New York Firefighters Association's
enduring commitment to public safety and its outstanding 131-year legacy
of leadership and community service; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 131st Annual Convention of the Central New York
Firefighters Association and to extend its gratitude to the New York
Mills Fire Department for hosting this distinguished event July 18-20,
2025; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Central New York Firefighters Association and the New

York Mills Fire Department with the sincere respect and admiration of
this Legislative Body.
