MOURNING the death of Wayne Mark Pasternack,
distinguished citizen, devoted family man, and
respected member of his community

WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Wayne Mark Pasternack was one such
individual; and

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Wayne Mark Pasternack, noting
the significance of his purposeful life and accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Mark Pasternack of Dobbs Ferry, New York, died on May
16, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving behind a legacy of kindness,
compassion, integrity, and good-natured spirit that will forever
influence his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing
him; and

WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn, New York, Wayne Mark Pasternack was the
eldest of three sons of Martin and Elaine Pasternack; from an early age,
his character was evident, winning the Courtesy Award in third grade-a
distinction that foreshadowed a lifetime defined by generosity and
grace; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Mark Pasternack was a graduate of John Dewey High
School and attended the University of Akron on a viola scholarship
before transferring to Northeastern University, where he earned a degree
in finance and was known for his energy and camaraderie, earning the
nickname "Wayne the Weapon" in a coed water polo league; and

WHEREAS, With determination and perseverance, Wayne Mark Pasternack
worked his way through college and began a distinguished career in
finance as an international money market broker at Prebon and later
Martin Bierbaum, before joining Bloomberg LP, where he served as a
senior sales representative for over two decades; and

WHEREAS, At Bloomberg LP, Wayne Mark Pasternack's creativity and
charm enabled him to connect with clients in surprising and innovative
ways, earning accolades such as Angler of the Year and the Spirit of
Bloomberg award; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, he was a generous mentor and teacher,
launching "Wednesdays with Wayne," a seminar series that helped
countless professionals navigate Bloomberg terminal systems; he also
lectured at institutions including Yale University and the University of
Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, In 1988, Wayne Mark Pasternack met Corinne LaPook at the
airport in Guadeloupe, sparking a romance that led to a 37-year marriage
defined by partnership, laughter, and unwavering support; together, they

raised two sons, Sam and Jesse, in a home filled with love,
encouragement, and creative inspiration; and

WHEREAS, Despite his career in finance, Wayne Mark Pasternack had
the soul of an artist; a self-taught guitarist, he turned his
educational seminars into virtual concerts during the COVID-19 pandemic,
continuing to bring joy and music to those around him; he championed the
creative endeavors of his wife and sons in the world of filmmaking, and
filled his family's life with song, sports, humor, and wisdom; and

WHEREAS, A passionate fan of the New York Mets, Green Bay Packers,
New York Knicks, Leyton Orient Football Club, and NCAA Men's Basketball,
Wayne Mark Pasternack's greatest devotion was to his family; he never
missed a concert, game, or moment in his sons' lives, and his joy in
their accomplishments was boundless; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Mark Pasternack is survived by his beloved wife
Corinne LaPook; his cherished sons Sam and Jesse; his devoted brothers
Jeff and Gregg; and a loving extended family of in-laws, nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will miss their
beloved "Uncle Wayne" deeply; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Wayne Mark Pasternack leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will
be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Wayne Mark Pasternack, a man of tremendous warmth,
intelligence, and spirit, whose life exemplified the highest ideals of
community and family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Wayne Mark Pasternack, with the deepest
sympathy and respect of this Legislative Body.
