HONORING Addisyn Van Dewater upon the occasion of
her designation as the 2025 Ken-Ton Bee Female
Athlete of the Year

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend outstanding student-athletes within the State of New York who
have distinguished themselves through dedication, determination, and
athletic achievement; and

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through rigorous training, mental and physical discipline,
and a dedicated spirit, qualities all exemplified by Addisyn Van Dewater
of Kenmore West High School; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Addisyn Van
Dewater upon the occasion of her designation as the 2025 Ken-Ton Bee
Female Athlete of the Year, a tribute that recognizes not only her
exceptional accomplishments on the field and court, but also her
character, leadership, and service to her school and community; and

WHEREAS, A five-sport athlete who earned an extraordinary 17 varsity
letters, Addisyn Van Dewater excelled in basketball, volleyball, track
and field, lacrosse, and flag football, all while maintaining high
academic standards and mentoring fellow students through unified sports;
and

WHEREAS, On the basketball court, Addisyn Van Dewater reached a
career milestone achieved by only one other in Kenmore West history,
surpassing 1,000 career points; during her senior season, she averaged
20 points per game, recorded 93 assists and 77 steals, and earned
multiple First and Second Team Niagara Frontier League honors; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, her leadership was instrumental in Kenmore
West's victory over a previously undefeated team in the Niagara Frontier
League Championship during her junior year, a performance emblematic of
her fearlessness, poise, and determination; and

WHEREAS, Addisyn Van Dewater was a catalyst for the development of
girls flag football in the Ken-Ton School District, serving as a team
captain and leading the program to a 14-3 record and a sectional
championship appearance in its inaugural season, while excelling as a
quarterback and linebacker; and

WHEREAS, Her numerous accolades include being named Kenmore West
Female Athlete of the Year and Niagara PAL Female Athlete of the Year,
honors that reflect her lasting impact not only within her school but
across the wider region; and

WHEREAS, Addisyn Van Dewater's excellence transcended athletics; she
exhibited superior time-management skills, academic discipline, and a
servant-leader mindset, crediting her family and mentors for instilling
the values of hard work, integrity, and putting others first; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary young woman will continue her athletic
and academic journey at SUNY Brockport, where she intends to major in
physical education and compete at the collegiate level, a testament to
her continued growth and commitment to excellence; and

WHEREAS, Addisyn Van Dewater has served as a role model to her peers
and younger athletes, leaving a legacy not only of athletic distinction
but of leadership, mentorship, and community service, demonstrating the
highest ideals of sportsmanship and personal character; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Addisyn Van Dewater upon the occasion of her designation as the
2025 Ken-Ton Bee Female Athlete of the Year, and to extend to her its
highest commendation and best wishes for continued success in all her
future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Addisyn Van Dewater.
