CONGRATULATING Paramedic David Rice upon the
occasion of his retirement after 23 years of
distinguished service to the Paramedic Unit of the
Town of Tonawanda

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Paramedic David Rice upon the occasion of his retirement
after 23 years of distinguished service to the Paramedic Unit of the
Town of Tonawanda; and

WHEREAS, The Town of Tonawanda's Paramedic Unit is a public service
organization within the Town of Tonawanda Police Department and a
critical link in the emergency medical service (EMS) system for the
communities of both the Town of Tonawanda and the Village of Kenmore,
providing high quality and advanced pre-hospital medical care; and

WHEREAS, David Rice is known for his extraordinary patient care,
empathy, and compassion; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, David Rice has answered more than
16,000 calls for service, providing the highest standards of
pre-hospital care for the citizens and visitors of his community; and

WHEREAS, To the many paramedic personnel who have served alongside
him and those he has mentored throughout his career, the dedicated
service of David Rice reflects the very best of what it means to be a
public servant; he has earned the admiration, esteem, and affection of
his colleagues; and

WHEREAS, While a proud member of the Town of Tonawanda's Paramedic
Unit, David Rice served his community with loyalty, honor, and
distinction; in his official acts, he was governed by a keen sense of
duty, assisting others in need and providing essential services to
members of his community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Paramedic David Rice upon the occasion of his retirement
after 23 years of distinguished service to the Paramedic Unit of the
Town of Tonawanda; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Paramedic David Rice.
