CONGRATULATING the Potsdam Central High School
Girls Hockey Team upon the occasion of capturing the
NYSPHSAA Girls Hockey Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Potsdam Central High School Girls Hockey Team upon the occasion of
capturing the NYSPHSAA Girls Hockey Championship on Saturday, February
21, 2026, at the Utica University Nexus Center in Utica, New York; to
the praise and applause of their excited fans, the Lady Sandstoners
defeated Adirondack United in a 3-2 victory to win the championship; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning their school's colors, family, friends, and
the community at large loyally and enthusiastically supported the Lady
Sandstoners throughout their journey as they ended their season with an
impressive 17-3-2 overall record; and

WHEREAS, This championship win is Potsdam Central High School's
first girls hockey championship in over a decade, demonstrating the
remarkable effort that was put in by this season's players and coaches;
and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as girls hockey, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Head Coach Joe Stark and his skilled
coaching staff worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team,
teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable
both on and off the rink; and

WHEREAS, Coach Joe Stark and all of the outstanding athletes on the
Potsdam Central High School Girls Hockey Team have clearly utilized
dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Potsdam Central High School Girls
Hockey Team: Bailey Aldridge, Rylie Bicknell, Sloane Bicknell, Averie
Bicknell, Susannah Bullard, Alexis Crites, Kennedy Colterman, Allyson
Draper, Brynlee Desrosiers, Levi Forney, Lucy Frego, Lexi Haught, Hannah
Law, Tessa LaSala, Addison Marcil, Avery Marcil, Sophie Manor, Sophie
Merriman, Emily McCarthy, Jillian Pitts, Claire Shoen, Sophie Shoen,
Jordyn Scott, Audrey Sheldon, Teagan Sheldon, Gianna Sorrento, Maddison
Sorrento, and Myla Thomas; Head Coach Joe Stark; and Assistant Coaches

Lindsay LaSala and Olivia Scott on their outstanding season and overall
team record; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Potsdam Central High School Girls
Hockey Team, Head Coach Joe Stark, and Assistant Coaches Lindsay LaSala
and Olivia Scott.
