LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Paul Rooney upon the occasion of receiv-
ing the Jerome Trachtenberg Service Award from the Rockland County Fire
Chiefs' Association

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body takes great pride in acknowledging those
esteemed individuals within the State of New York who distinguish them-
selves in service to their community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Paul
Rooney upon the occasion of receiving the Jerome Trachtenberg Service
Award from the Rockland County Fire Chiefs' Association; and
WHEREAS, Named in honor of the Dean of the Rockland County legal
community who practiced for almost 60 years and founded the Legal Aid
Society, the Jerome Trachtenberg Service Award is given to the Chief of
the Year in the region; and
WHEREAS, In light of his commitment and dedication to the Rockland
County Fire Chiefs' Association and his own outstanding commitment to
the community, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to extend its
highest commendation to the former Chief of the Stony Point Fire Depart-
ment, Paul Rooney; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, With great pride, this Legislative Body recognizes the magna-
nimous contributions of Paul Rooney and is pleased to have this opportu-
nity to wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Paul Rooney upon the occasion of receiving the Jerome Trachtenberg
Service Award from the Rockland County Fire Chiefs' Association; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Paul Rooney.
